THE APPEAL OF MOISSANITE
It’s All About Beauty
Moissanite is the most beautiful jewel in the world.
Moissanite has unrivalled brilliance, fire and lustre, the qualities that define the beauty of a jewel.
REFRACTIVE INDEX is the jewels ability to capture and reflect light. The higher the refractive index, the higher the brilliance of the jewel. Moissanite has a refractive index of 2.65-2.69,
outperforming all other jewels.
FIRE is the dispersion or spectral separation of white light into rainbow flashes. The more dispersion a jewel has, the more delightful colour effects it will display. Moissanite has 2.5 times the fire of a diamond.
LUSTRE or scintillation is the flashes of light or shine you see when a jewel moves in the light. Moissanite’s lustre rating of 20.4% is greater than a diamond’s rating of 17.2%.
Its seductive beauty and exceptional value make SUPERNOVA Moissanite ideal for any occasion.

BUY WITH CONFIDENCE
SUPERNOVA Moissanite will never change appearance.
It will always remain shiny and lustrous just like the day it was purchased.
DURABILITY
The durability of a jewel is determined by its ability to withstand temperature and chemical exposure. SUPERNOVA and NOVA Moissanite has higher heat tolerance than diamonds making damage from heat during jewelry manufacturing and repair very unlikely.
HARDNESS
Moissanite’s hardness is 9 ¼ on the Mohs scale. Its unusually high hardness makes scratching and abrasions very rare, even after many years of daily wear and tear.
All SUPERNOVA Moissanite jewels are accompanied by an Authenticity Card which verifies that your SUPERNOVA Moissanite is an authentic Moissanite International jewel.
History of Moissanite
Moissanite can trace its origins to particles derived from a meteorite which crashed into the Arizona desert fifty thousand years ago.
In 1893 French chemist and Nobel prize-winner, Dr Henri Moissan discovered samples from the meteor crater. The extraordinary sparkle from the geological samples were a revelation which Dr Moissan determined as a new mineral, Silicon Carbide (SiC). The mineral form of Silicon Carbide was named Moissanite in honour of Dr Moissan.
Moissanite in its natural form is too rare and too small for use in jewellery purposes. However, one century later, through a combination of science, technology, and master gem cutting, created Moissanite became available for fine jewellery.
In the last 20 years, Moissanite has become popular throughout the world for jewellery lovers.
Now with our further development, Everyone Can Shine.

Moissanite FAQ’s
Moissanite is the most brilliant jewel in the world. It has more brilliance, fire and lustre than any other gemstone.
Moissanite is created through a thermal growing process using the natural mineral Silicon Carbide.
Moissanite is then hand cut to maximise its brilliance and fire.
Moissanite was named in honour of its discoverer, French Nobel Prize-winner, Dr. Henri Moissan.
While it looks like diamond, Moissanite is a different jewel than diamond with a different chemical composition.
As such, Moissanite is not graded using the diamond grading system.
The Refractive Index (RI) of a gemstone is the most important optical property affecting its potential brilliance (sparkle).
With an RI of 2.65-2.69, Moissanite displays more brilliance than diamond (RI 2.42) or any other popular gemstone,
such as ruby (RI 1.77) and sapphire (RI 1.77).
No, because Moissanite is made from a natural mineral, it will maintain its appearance forever.
Moissanite’s properties and master cutting creates high dispersion (“fire”).
Moissanite’s dispersion is 0.104, which means it has more fire than diamond at 0.044.
Fire is one of the three attributes that make up the beauty of a jewel, along with brilliance and lustre.
While Moissanite and diamond jewellery is extremely hard, durable and resistant to abrasion and chipping, like all other gemstones, they are not indestructible. Care for your Moissanite jewellery just as you would other fine jewellery, taking precautions not to wear rings and bracelets when doing rough work.
Yes! Due to Moissanite’s beauty, durability, value and brilliance that lasts forever, it is very popular for engagement rings.
